About The Counselor
This is my 23rd as the school counselor at Woodruff Primary School. I enjoy working with the teachers and staff, parents, and especially the students. I graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and received my Master of Education and Educational Specialist degrees in school counseling from the University of South Carolina. On Saturdays in the fall, I’ll be wearing orange and yelling “Go Tigers!” My husband and I live in Laurens with our children Brian and Ruthie and our dog Daisy. My husband teachers at Fountain Inn High School and mentors Team 4451 First Robotics Team. Brian is a graduate of Laurens High School and Ruthie attends Woodruff High School. You will often find me cheering on the Wolverines at her volleyball and softball games.
My Counseling Program and WPS Mission
The primary focus of school counseling and guidance programs at the elementary level is prevention. My goal is to help students develop more positive interpersonal and intrapersonal skills... assisting them in becoming happier, more effective individuals and learners. My school counseling and guidance program is for every student at WPS; therefore, my services are designed to reach every student through developmental, preventative education, and responsive services.
